Who we are

"Micman", "we" and "us" refer to the developer of the Micman app for macOS. You can reach us at support@wenworks.app.

What we don't collect

• No analytics, usage statistics or telemetry of any kind.
• No advertising identifiers and no third-party tracking SDKs.
• No account. You never sign up to use Micman.
• No audio. See the next section.

Microphone access and audio

macOS asks for your permission before Micman can use the microphone. The app uses this access only to show a live input level (the level meter and microphone test). The level is calculated in memory on your Mac. Audio is never recorded, saved to disk or transmitted.

Your device list, priority order, blocked devices, shortcuts and other settings are stored locally on your Mac and are not sent to us.

License activation (Pro only)

If you buy Micman Pro, the app talks directly to the Lemon Squeezy License API to activate, validate and deactivate your license. These requests contain:

• your license key;
• an instance name that identifies this Mac within your license (for example, the name of your Mac), so you can tell your activations apart;
• the instance ID that Lemon Squeezy returns after activation.

Like any web request, these also reveal your IP address to Lemon Squeezy. The license key is stored in your Mac's Keychain. The app re-validates the license from time to time and keeps working offline for up to 30 days between checks. The free version never contacts Lemon Squeezy.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details to process the order and taxes, under its own privacy policy. We receive order information (such as your name, email address, order number and license key) so we can provide support and process refunds. We never see your full card details.

Software updates

Micman uses the Sparkle framework to check for updates. When it checks, the app downloads an update feed from our update server. The request includes the app version and your macOS version, so we can offer an update that is compatible with your Mac. As with any web request, the server also receives your IP address and a standard user agent string. We use update-server logs only to operate and secure the service, and we delete them after [RETENTION PERIOD].

This website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Our hosting provider may keep standard access logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and reliability.

Emails to support

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet legal obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. Because we hold very little (order details and support emails), the simplest way to exercise these rights is to email support@wenworks.app. For data held by Lemon Squeezy, you can also contact Lemon Squeezy directly.

Children

Micman is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what the app sends over the network, we will also mention it in the release notes.
